Overview

What it does.

Chester-area arts, heritage, public, or nonprofit organizations can apply for eligible projects after meeting organizational-history and budget requirements. The FY 2027 program incorporates Challenge America and Design and Our Town as disciplines.

Best for: A mature nonprofit or public arts project with a defined public benefit and required match.

Application

How to start.

  1. Confirm organizational eligibility and choose the correct discipline.
  2. Maintain active SAM.gov and Grants.gov registrations.
  3. Submit Part 1 through Grants.gov and Part 2 through the NEA Applicant Portal.

Timing: The July 9, 2026 Grants.gov deadline has passed; monitor the NEA for the next cycle.

Limits to account for.

  • Applicants generally need at least five years of arts programming and at least $20,000 in recent operating expenses under the FY 2027 guidelines.

Nonfederal cash and eligible in-kind support may contribute to the required match.
