Chester or Randolph County can seek IDOT participation when a local route needs strengthening for industrial, agricultural, or distribution truck traffic. A business can help document need but cannot be the direct applicant.

Application

How to start.

  1. Contact the IDOT district Local Roads and Streets office serving Randolph County.
  2. Prepare the application, location map, photographs, and cost estimate.
  3. Submit through the current solicitation process.

Timing: IDOT states applications for fiscal years 2026-2028 are open; consult the current circular letter for timing.
