Illinois Arts Council Creative Projects Grant.
The FY27 Creative Projects Grant provides up to $12,000 for eligible Illinois artists and organizations delivering a defined arts project with a public outcome.
Overview
What it does.
Applications are accepted regionally until the allocation is exhausted and must be submitted at least eight weeks before the project starts. This is project support, not a building-renovation grant.
Best for: A Chester artist, nonprofit, library, municipality, or college partner producing a feasible public arts project.

Eligible applicants
- Eligible Illinois artists and arts educators age 21 or older
- Eligible Illinois 501(c)(3) organizations
- Eligible branches of government entities and state colleges or universities
Applicants excluded by the source
- Public K-12 schools and districts
- Current degree-seeking students except eligible Ph.D. candidates under the guidelines
- Recipients excluded by the current-year guidelines

Application
How to start.
- Create or update an Illinois Arts Council Salesforce account.
- Review FY27 eligibility, allowable costs, and proof-of-feasibility requirements.
- Submit a complete application at least eight weeks before the project start while regional funds remain.
Timing: Open deadline until each region's allocation is expended; applications require at least eight weeks of lead time.

Limits to account for.
- The project needs a public presentation or release and documented feasibility.
- Construction and permanent capital improvements are not eligible.
Disclose other project support and keep costs within each funder's rules.
